Accessibility Research

Artboard Copy 4
In early 2010, as a means to teach myself about design research, I decided to study how blind people use the Bangalore public bus system. Two of my friends came on board with me.

We conducted our research by shadowing blind people as they used the bus system. We also interviewed five people including an expert at the National Association for the Blind, who trained blind people to navigate in the city.

Our insights from the research are captured below. I also gave a lunchtime talk about this project at the IIT Institute of Design Strategy Conference 2012.
